INDUSTRIAL

In addition to the medical applications that our sensors were initially developed for, our sensors have been used to monitor pressure transients in water and hydraulic pipelines, phase sensitive detection of acoustic signals, and for monitoring wave height amongst other applications.

PIPELINE SENSING

Arkwright Technologies fibre arrays have been utilised to monitor the transportation of fluid through pipes. Sensors can be implemented internally or externally and mounted on a temporary or permanent basis to characterise both static and dynamic loadings for pipe inspections.

SINGLE POINT SENSING

The helical fibre sensor can also be provided as a single sensing element. In this instance, a simplified low cost data acquisition system based on detuning of identical FBGs in the upper and lower fibres of the helix. This approach can be used to interrogate up to 8 discrete devices using a course wavelength division multiplexing module.

WAVE PRESSURE SENSING

A simple adaptation of the fibre optic manometry catheter allows these devices to act as a water pressure sensor for monitoring wave height.

APPLICATION SPECIFIC SENSORS

At Arkwright Technologies we pride ourselves in our ability to develop fibre optic sensing solutions for a variety of applications. Our aim is to understand the needs of our customers to develop the best sensing solution to suit.
